Hey there, Flamingo Fans!

It’s getting warm again in Halverston and area! Which is great, but the warm weather brings its own set of challenges for Captain Flamingo.

For example, the mutant squirrels have been around a lot. Just last week, they took over the playground and wouldn’t let anyone in. Any kid who tried to slide down the slide or play on the monkey bars was pummelled with acorns.

It all got worse when Milo’s annoying cousin Wendell declared he wasn’t scared of any puny squirrels and went straight over to the teeter-totter. But Wendell learned his lesson when the squirrels took him hostage. The Captain was tempted to leave Wendell among the squirrels, but he knew his Mom would be super mad if he left his cousin there FOREVER.

So, the Captain offered the squirrels a deal. He told them that from sundown to sunrise, the playground would be their property: no kids allowed. But from sunrise to sunset, they had to share it with us. The squirrels thought about it and then agreed. It was a deal! They set Wendell free.

But, oddly enough, one of the girl squirrels got a super-huge crush on Wendell! Wendell pretends to be all creeped out but, between you and me, I think he likes the attention…

That’s it for today, Flamingo Fans! I’ll write again soon.

P.S.: Chester can’t believe anyone could like Wendell. What do YOU think?
