Snow Days

Greetings, Flamingo Fans!

Winter is in full swing here in Halverston and area, and last week we had the hugest snowstorm ever! It didn’t stop snowing for three whole days! And when it did stop, our street had become a winter wonderland! We had great snowball fights, went skating on Owen-Only’s backyard skating rink, and made the most awesome snow fort. It was super fun! That is… until Wendell showed up.

As soon as he came outside, Wendell started bragging about how he could build the best snowman ever and, wouldn’t you know it, suddenly it was the Captain versus Wendell in a “Who Can Make the Better Snowman” competition.

It was all going really well until the Captain got called by kid after kid in trouble. Almost every kid in the neighbourhood called for help that day! But, after the Captain found Sanjay’s mitten, shovelled Rutger’s tree house, and saved Kirsten from mutant chickadees, he still managed to build a pretty cool snowman—

—A snowman that was absolutely identical to Wendell’s. Well, except for one very insignificant detail: Wendell’s snowman was an eighth of an inch taller than Milo’s!

Now, we all know being an eighth of an inch taller doesn’t mean anything, but… YOU try telling that to Wendell.
