Happy Holidays, Flamingo Fans!

It’s almost time for the holidays, and there sure are a lot of them!

There’s Christmas, Hanukkah, Winter Solstice, Kwanzaa, and more—the list just goes on and on. It’s amazing how many cultures celebrate holidays in the month of December! At the community centre we learned about all of ‘em.

For example, Mthgregronifsqumineousrassitrick told us that in his country Santa Claus brings everyone a potetki for Christmas. (A potetki is a pet potato, didn’t you know.) Which everyone thought was strange until he showed us how much fun a pet potato could be. Who knew?

Then we all started talking about Santa Claus, which really got Milo going because he’s been trying to meet the big guy since he was really little.

Every Christmas, Milo stakes out the living room and tries to stay up to meet Santa. But, every year, Milo falls asleep before Santa comes, and he wakes up the next morning surrounded by his presents and a note from Santa saying, “Ha ha, Milo. Missed me again! Maybe next year!”

So Milo vowed—in front of everyone—that he’s going to use all of his Captain Flamingo ingenuity to meet the big guy this year. None of the other kids think he can do it but…you know… I sort of think he can. I’ll let you know what happens.
